About

Welcome to Viral Flash Games.  My name is Billy Deakin, and I’ve been developing Flash games for over 7 years.  Back in 2002 I was just starting to get my Web Design business off the ground.  Flash was a relatively new technology at that time, and many clients were wowed by the visual effects which could be achieved with it.  So, with a big pile of text books, and a serious supply of strong coffee I set about the the long and ardous task of teaching myself Flash.

It wasn’t long before I grew tired of the boring tutorials in the textbooks and decided on a different approach.  I began experimenting with Flash to create games.  I had seen sites such as Miniclip appear on the Internet and tried to emulate some of thier success… and it didn’t take long!

I put a handful of very simple games on up on a website I called Kwik Games.  Within just a few days I was getting regular visitors, and over the coming weeks that trickle of daily visitors became a stream, then a river, and then a torrent… and then the server crashed!

I’d written a game I called Blob Wars and the game had become so popular, so fast, that my hosting server couldn’t take the volume of traffic… the game was too popular!  Needless to say that I upgraded to a more powerful and reliable server, and started to take my Flash games development more seriously.  In fact, that game went on to be featured in magazines such as Web User and became a featured game on huge sites such as Addictinggames and Mousebreaker.  What’s more I started attracting clients, and over the past 7 years I’ve developed games for companies all over the world inlcuding big clients such as The BBC and even MiniClip, the site which inspired me all those years ago!

While my main work still involves developing bespoke games for clients, I also get a lot of interest in smaller and more generic games.  Since I don’t have the time to work on these smaller games very often I have decided to release a pack of 10 great little games so that anyone can enjoy some of the success I’ve had with Flash games.

Whether you want to simply add these games to your own sites for the benefit of your visitors, have them modified and reskinned and submitted to arcade sites to increase your backlinks and traffic, or pull them apart to see how they function and learn to make Flash games yourself, these games are guaranteed to be lots of fun for both you and your visitors!  If you’re looking to learn how to make your own Flash games visit Flash Games Classroom.

I hope you enjoy playing them as much as I enjoyed writing them.  I always welcome feedback so please do contect me with any comments or questions, and let me know what you think of my Viral Flash Games!

All the best,

Billy
